Necessary: Please download and check our hotel door lock Installation Manuals (PDF) and read it carefully.

You can also use the following specific hotel lock installation steps as your installation reference:

Step 1: Tools Preparation

Prepare professional tools in advance to ensure installation efficiency and accuracy.

  • Key Tools: Power drill (with drill bits of various sizes), Phillips/flathead screwdrivers, level, measuring tape, wire strippers, and drilling template provided by the manufacturer.
  • Notes: Check the drill battery level, select drill bits matching the lock’s required hole diameters, and avoid door damage caused by mismatched tools.

Step 2: Component Verification

Confirm all parts are complete and undamaged to prevent mid-installation shortages or malfunctions.

  • Checklist: Lock body, interior/exterior panels, cylinder, mechanical key, electronic module.
  • Accessories: Screw kit, transmission shafts, emergency mechanical keys.
  • Handling Issues: Contact the supplier for replacements if scratches or deformities are found; use identical specifications for missing screws.
Step 2 Component Verification Hotel door lock installation

Step 3: Door Preparation

Perform precise drilling based on door type (new/existing).

  • New Door Procedure: Attach the manufacturer’s drilling template to the door edge to mark positions for the lock body, latch, and wiring channel holes.
  • Existing Door Modification: Measure if existing holes match the new lock. Fill old holes with wood filler and glue if necessary, then redrill.

Step 4: Lock Mortise Installation

Secure the lock chassis inside the door and align it with the door structure.

  • Insert the lock body into the edge bore and adjust vertical alignment using a level.
  • Fix the lock body with self-tapping screws, ensuring they are fully tightened without over-torquing to avoid door cracking.
  • Test latch retraction/extension; apply lubricant if needed.
Step 4 Hotel Lock Mortise Installation

Step 5: Cylinder Installation

Install the mechanical cylinder inside the lock body to ensure the emergency key function.

  • Insert the cylinder into the exterior panel’s reserved hole, ensuring its tailpiece engages with the lock body’s transmission mechanism.
  • Secure the cylinder with dedicated screws and test key rotation for smooth operation.

Step 6: Drive Shaft Connection

Establish mechanical linkage between interior/exterior handles and the lock body.

  • Pass the drive shaft through the door’s cross bore and the lock body to connect the exterior handle and interior knob.
  • Adjust the shaft length to match door thickness, ensuring synchronized latch movement during handle rotation.
Step 6 Drive Shaft Connection

Step 7: Electrical Wiring

Complete power supply and signal transmission for the electronic lock.

  • Connect the interior/exterior panels’ wires to the wires of the lock body if the lock body has a data cable.
  • If the lock body does not have wires, directly connect the front and rear panels’ wires.
  • Ensure no exposed wires to avoid short circuits.
Step 7 Electrical Wiring

Step 8: Faceplate Mounting

Secure interior/exterior decorative panels and conceal internal components.

  • External panel: Align the holes, insert the front shaft into the handle hole of the external panel, ensuring a seamless fit with the door surface.
  • Internal panel: Align the holes, insert the rear shaft into the handle hole of the internal panel, and insert the knob shaft into the lock knob hole.

Step 9: Mechanical Testing

Verify mechanical component installation and eliminate hardware issues.

  • External handle: Turning the handle should remain locked before power is applied.
  • Internal knob: Turning should instantly retract the latch (simulating an emergency escape).
  • Latch movement: Test 10 retraction/extension cycles to ensure smoothness and no unusual noises.
Step 9 Mechanical Testing

Step 10: Power System Activation

Power up and initialize the electronic lock system.

  • Insert four new AA alkaline batteries (avoid rechargeable batteries due to voltage instability).
  • Pay attention to the positive and negative poles of the battery.
  • A startup beep and three LED flashes confirm successful initialization.
  • Secure the battery cover with triangle security screws to prevent guest tampering.
Step 10 Power System Activation

Step 11: Full System Diagnostics

  • RFID card test: Use the included RFID test card to confirm that the RFID function works properly.
  • Handle test: After using the test card, push down the external handle to confirm that the door can be opened. Push the internal handle to verify that the door can be opened directly.
  • Interior knob test: Turn the interior knob to confirm that the latch bolt can be manually enabled from the inside.
Step 11 Full System Diagnostics

Step 12: Tighten Interior & Exterior Panel Screws

Procedure:

  1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten screws diagonally (top-left → bottom-right → top-right → bottom-left).
  2. Stop when screw heads are flush with the panel surface.
  3. Verify no panel movement by gentle shaking.

Notes: Add insulating washers for metal doors.
